Navigating the twists and turns of legal and medical paperwork, courts, and agencies can be overwhelming.  Unfortunately, a person's parentage rights or identity are most likely to be questioned in times of crisis or trauma, when we are least prepared to deal with such challenges.  That's why legally protecting yourself proactively is so imperative.  When something as precious as your family or identity is at stake, All Family Legal, PC can provide professional, compassionate advice on what your options are and how best to move forward.  Every family and individual is unique, and your legal protection should be as well.  All Family Legal, PC makes sure that every client gets individualized attention and care, seeking the best possible outcome for every case.

Areas of Practice

surrogacy

Whether you are a surrogate or an intended parent, we help you navigate the process from start to finish.  Once a surrogate and intended parent have been matched, we help draft and review surrogacy contracts, negotiate the terms, and ensure that our clients understand the full agreement before signing on the dotted line.  Closer to the birth, we support our clients in receiving a court ordered parentage order, ensuring legal protection for parents and surrogates alike and a smooth legal transition after the baby is born.

This map provides a state-by-state analysis of surrogacy laws in the United States.

second parent, stepparent & confirmatory adoptions

We help explain your options to protect your legal parentage rights and help you figure out your best path forward.  Whether you are a same-sex couple who had a child within your marriage or a stepparent seeking to legally adopt your spouse's child, we can help you accomplish all of the steps to make sure that your relationship with your child is legally protected, no matter where you may end up visiting or living.

sperm & Egg donor agreements

We represent both donors and intended parents, ensuring that parental rights and responsibilities are properly allocated.  We take the time to talk through your individual circumstances and make sure that your sperm or egg donor agreement uniquely represents you.  At the end of the day, these agreements securely protect parents' rights as parents and donors' rights as nonparents, to allow clarity and security moving into the future.

parentage orders & guardianships

For unmarried parents, co-parents, grandparents and guardians, we will help ensure that your rights are protected, regardless of what may happen in the future.  Even if you are a biological parent, there may be times when a parentage order will give you more comprehensive protection.  We will walk you through the process to protect yourselves and your little ones.

Minors Counsel

In some family law and guardianship cases, the level of conflict requires special attorneys who exclusively represent the best interests of the child. We focus on representing LGBTQ+ youth, children with LGBTQ+ parents and children in families with non-traditional or more extended family structures, striving to provide culturally sensitive care, focusing on the needs of the child within the family.

name and gender changes

We provide efficient and understanding services to help you make sure that your identity is legally affirmed.  We understand the power and importance in a name or a pronoun, and we want to make sure that your name and pronoun are recognized not just by you and your loved ones, but also by courts, government agencies, and private individuals.  We can also help you replace your birth certificate and update other identity documents.

Private Adoption

We work with matched adoptive parents and birth parents to ensure a smooth transition to new families.  Whether the adoption is open or closed, we will work with you through the paperwork, home studies, and court hearings until the adoption is finalized.
